The safety data sheet is an important communication tool for conveying information about the hazards and risks of substances and mixtures. The GHS (Globally Harmonized System) has created a worldwide standard for the structure of the safety data sheet. This makes it possible for the first time to create and send safety data sheets that have the same structure all over the world.
However, the contents of the SDSs are still defined by regional or national legislation.
